Dr. Mitchell Brown, B.Sc, MD, M.Ed, FRCSC, is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Medicine from which he received the gold medal for top standing in his graduating class. Upon completing his schooling in London, Ontario, he completed a surgical internship at Toronto Western Hospital followed up by a five-year plastic surgery residency at the University of Toronto. Furthermore, Dr. Brown obtained a Masters in Education and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in plastic surgery.

He is a staff member at Women’s College Hospital and North York General Hospital in Toronto and holds many memberships including those with the Ontario Society of Plastic Surgeons (OSPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the Canadian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (CSAPS), the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS).

Dr. Brown specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, facial aesthetic surgery and body contouring. He has been in clinical practice since 1995 and has been invited to perform live surgery demonstrations across the world. Dr. Brown is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto and their Residency Training Program Director for the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is also the founder of the Toronto Annual Breast Surgery Symposium and is the creator of Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Day which is now recognized in over 25 countries.

His expertise has been featured on CBC Radio and Television, CityTV, Canada AM and the Life Channel.

I don't think words can describe the positive experience I have had with Dr Brown and his staff since having my breast augmentation surgery on March 29th of this year. As many others have said, Dr Brown came highly recommended to me and I am more than happy that he was my choice of surgeon for this procedure. Dr Brown and his staff have been highly professional, comforting, personable, and knowledgeable. On the day of surgery while my nerves were kicking in, I was made to feel at home by the kindness of all who worked at the Cumberland Clinic. I originally struggled in my mind with determining an appropriate size that would be proportionate to my body and Dr Brown was skillfully able to assist me with choosing a size that I am now absolutely thrilled about. For those contemplating surgery, it should be known that I had an extremely quick, fairly painless recovery and felt back to normal within a few days time. Dr. Brown and staff go above and beyond. After losing a significant amount of weight I was left with excess fat on my tummy and thighs that no amount of exercise could get rid of. After lots of thought I decided I would consider surgery to remove these problem areas. I placed a call to Dr. Browns office and that's when I spoke with Sophia who works front desk. Sophia was very kind, helpful,l and informative. On the day of my appointment I met Magdalena who is the surgical patient coordinator, and Michelle who is one of the nurses. Both were amazing and made me feel very comfortable. It was a very nice atmosphere to be in. When I met Dr. Brown I knew almost immediately that he was the Doctor for me. He examined me, he listened and answered all my questions, and the appointment never felt rushed. He was very knowledgeable and charismatic. Fast forward to surgery day.... Going into any surgery can make anyone a bit anxious. I was no exception, but it didn't last long. I sat in the waiting room for a few short minutes and as soon as Dr. Brown walked in I felt at ease and was excited about my procedure. Today, nearly 6 months post tummy tuck, I am thrilled with the results and looking forward to my thigh reduction surgery in a few weeks. Thank you Dr. Brown and staff!!
